DRUG DELIVERY
Lysozyme degradation of chitosans is very dependant on the degree
of acetylation. Studies have shown that lysozyme degradation rates
increase strongly with increasing FA, roughly proportional to FA in
the fourth power (Carbohydr. Polym. (1994) 23, 253-260).

This suggests that it could be possible to make chitosans with a
predetermined degradation rate for use as e.g. a drug delivery vehicle.
